ECC (Environment Community Centre) – a not-for-profit organization – has been working in rural India in the areas of biodiversity conservation, eco-development, and wasteland development. With just three permanent staff members and a part-time member, the ECC has managed to impart non-formal environmental education and awareness as well as natural resource conservation techniques, and foster rural development and eco-development.
The ECC has also involved itself in organising environmental awareness programmes, running eco-development camps for tribals, developing wastelands, conducting surveys of the fauna and flora of the Udaipur mining belt, practicing agro-forestry and raising nurseries, and encouraging the use of herbal medicines.
