Description
WoodNet provides education, training, research and development in all aspects of woodland management,
woodland conservation and timber use;
WoodNet helps people to understand the unique woodlands of South East England and the opportunities
available for renewable timber production and wood use
WoodNet is based at the Woodland Enterprise Centre near Flimwell, East Sussex, and manages twenty hectares
of demonstration woodland for research and education.
WoodNet was established as a bidding partnership in 1995, becoming a company limited by guarantee and
attaining charitable status in 2000. WoodNet delivers education, training, research and
development relating to woodland management and the innovative use of timber.
Working in partnership WoodNet has developed a number of practical initiatives with forestry, timber
industry and public sector organisations, for example: TimberBuild Network SE, Inwood
Developments, Lignatherm and Weald WoodFair.
