The Rainforest Trust of Sri Lanka is now a reality, and dedicated fully to rescuing, conserving, protecting and restoring your dwindling rainforests in Sri Lanka. However, it can only do so when the general public - you - accepts its social responsibility for conserving our valued national resources.
The rainforests of Sri Lanka today cover only about 2% of Sri Lanka. They are nevertheless of such significance that they are regarded internationally as a global Biodiversity Hotspot by many conservation organisations and a repository for many wonderful plant and animal species. At the same time, however, reports from IUCN, Future Harvest and Conservation International indicate serious concern over the future of this vegetative cover.
