Interest in Forestry: peripheral
The Environmental and Rural Development Foundation (ERuDeF) was founded in 1999. Today it is one of the only few emerging indigenous non-profit organisations that is dedicated to the conservation of wildlife, including great apes, in Cameroon. ERuDeF raises and spends its resources on four key areas:
- Education and awareness
– Assessment and analysis of the factors that influence the health and vitality of the natural ecosystems
– Support and production of critical areas, habitats, and fragile environments
– Support the development of community and legal frameworks as well as alternative means at local levels that promote the protection and conservation of key habitats and species such as the great apes, endanged birds and plants.
