Description
SOVA is working in bio-diversity conservation besides its other working area undertaking various interventions
like, community forestry, nursery development, and environmental education and
motivation etc ensuring involvement of forest community people. We are one of the NGOs in Chittagong
in Bangladesh (South Asia). Our Working Area is situated in Indo-Burma Hotspot. But now
Forest situation of Chittagong is at alarming. Most of the forest has been destroyed due to some specific
reasons. We would like to address the reasons and to solve the problems. We would like to
take initiative to assist to save and protect Bio-diversity and ecological balance of Chittagong and
Chittagong Hill Tracts in Bangladesh. We would like to undertake community based forestry program
aiming to assist to save ecological balance and biodiversity of CHT as per felt need of our community
people ensuring their direct participation and ownership toward enhance livelihood of forest
community.
