FOREWORD

I very much welcome this latest edition of the Commonwealth Forestry Handbook, coming as it does to mark the occasion of the Commonwealth Forestry Conference held in Fremantle, Western Australia.  The Handbook has been an indispensable reference work for foresters all over the world since the first edition was produced.  As the Association's President I wish to thank all those who have had inputs to this edition and I commend it to the members of the CFA and indeed to the forestry profession in general.
